About THE TREATMENT
Science Behind The SCCT VR Therapy
The Somato-Cognitive Action Network (SCAN) is crucial for movement coordination, linking sensory and cognitive processes. Dysfunction in SCAN is associated with various conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, stroke, cerebral ataxia, ADHD, ASD, and post-surgery rehabilitation. Somato-Cognitive Coordination Therapy (SCCT), utilized by mediVR®, targets SCAN to improve motor function and alleviate symptoms across these conditions by restoring connectivity through virtual reality and neuromodulation techniques.

In a person with a normal SCAN, motor movements are well-coordinated, allowing for smooth and independent control of body parts, resulting in fluid and precise actions.
In contrast, an entangled SCAN, often seen in conditions like Parkinson’s disease, causes dysfunctional coordination, where movements become hindered, and body parts cannot move independently, akin to a marionette with tangled strings.
